Identity for TAT CULT LAB MEDIAART / 2019

Tat Cult Lab / Mediaart

The TAT CULT program is a set of events and special projects aimed at supporting and promoting modern Tatar culture. The mission of the project is to bring Tatar art to a qualitatively new and competitive level, and to integrate the Tatar language into international culture.

TAT CULT LAB / Media Art is the first competition of technological projects in digital-art, virtual reality, net art, science art, etc. in Tatarstan. Within a month, the participants who submitted their applications and passed the selection process had to create works that were exhibited in the Gallery of Modern Art of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan. An open lecture with leading experts in the field of technological art was also held.

Brand metaphor

Like the TAT CULT FEST the media art laboratory demonstrates to the audience all the most important achievements of Tatarstan art. Therefore we have retained the visual metaphor of the kaleidoscope used for the festival, but redesigned its visual image for a narrower target audience of the art laboratory: contemporary artists, curators, art critics, visitors to exhibitions and lectures on contemporary art.
Logo design

Tat Cult Lab / mediaart is the annual concluding part of the Tat Cult program of events, which includes art laboratories, exhibitions and other activities. Therefore, it was important for us to create a modular logo that could be easily transformed by changing the "mediaart" prefix to any other.
