HEADGEAR DESIGN PROJECT
The designed headgear is a combination of different elements that have emerged from various sources. It shows the coming together of royalty and couture.
The design is inspired from the fascinators worn by the Royal women of England. Which is a small headpiece worn on one side of the head, covering either full or partial part of the head. The designs are usually simple and elegant and are custom made by designers as per the occasion, dress and status.
The form of the headgear is inspired from the aquatic life. The shape of the base is derived from the stingray’s curvy structure and the texture on the jellyfish’s body. The extensions on the left side are also derived from the Jellyfish, the tentacles and its fluid structure and WGSN’s ruffle story. The droplets hanging on the front are from the S/S ‘21 WGSN story of Liquid Forms.
