MS Dhoni Leaves Chennai as IPL 2020 on Hold
As the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) has been postponed till April 15 due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni left the base amid huge fanfare as of now because of the pandemic virus that has affected not only people’s lives but also the sports events across the globe.

"It has become your home, sir! Keep whistling, as #Thala Dhoni bids a short adieu to #AnbuDen," a tweet from CSK said with a short video of fans gathering to get a glimpse of MS Dhoni as the former India captain leaves the city.

However, MS Dhoni was seen signing autographs and interacting with people there. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the IPL team owners met in Mumbai on Saturday where they discussed on this and decided to follow the 'wait and watch' policy till the end of the month. After that, they can decide what to be done next with regard to the fate of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

On the other hand, the government on Wednesday had cancelled all visas, except for a few official categories and that will continue until April amid the growing coronavirus scare.
In the meeting which took place at Nirman Bhavan in the national capital, decided that all existing visas, except diplomatic, official, UN/international organisations, employment and project visas, will be suspended till April 15.

The Sports Ministry also took a right step as they announced that all sporting events should be cancelled in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak. They also decided that if the sport event is unavoidable then the events should be played behind the closed doors so as to avoid people gatherings.

MS Dhoni has been on a break since India lost to New Zealand in the World Cup semifinal last year.
