THE WARRIOR PRINCESS
Editorial Shoot
Inspired by the fiery and brave nineteenth century queen Lakshmibai of Jhansi, we bring you a woman of this century, embracing her fun and youthful side without forgetting her roots. An empowering statement is made by the dhoti and the turban, traditionally worn by men, but marvelously carried out by a young woman, highlighting her strength and confidence. The pagri is symbol of honor and respect for whoever wears it but nowadays it is also used by woman as a sign of individuality. She does not fear judgement and chooses to be portrayed the way she wants to be. An amalgamation of the modern youth and the rich culture of Indian History, we want to show that women have never been less than wonderful. The color palette showcases almost every emotion a woman goes through in different stages of her life from joy and prosperity to turmoil and sobriety. Fearless, elegant and revolutionary, we wanted to capture the different moods of the warrior princess inside an Indian woman.
