The Dyslexic's Dictionary

Dictionaries can be incredibly intimidating from people who suffer from dyslexia. Such a thick book with tiny letters, on very thin paper, with information everywhere. Although it’s an organised chaos, there are so many competing elements on the page that it can get difficult to make sense of.

By decreasing the contrast between the colour of the text and paper, increasing the font size, and creating a more spacious and organised layout, I’ve created a more accessible version. Aside from this, I've created a cover that allows the reader to cover up the definitions whilst they’re searching for the correct word. This means that there are no other elements competing for their attention. By turning it into a box set with one book per letter, I've decreased the size of the volumes, making them less intimidating.
