Colchester School of Art Catalogue Mock up/concept

Competition between all three years was to design a catalogue for the end of year show. I decided to go down the route of designing and making an A5 file box. The size was just bigger than A5 so the user could put other material gained from the exhibition in the box.
Using a file divider system for each degree book, would help the viewer locate each pathway work. The booklets would be bound together with looped staples, however I used wire to give an idea what the overall piece would look like. I also added 'where to find us...' section on the inside cover, so if the catalogue box was to be sent off to future students they could find Colchester School of Art.
Using the Colchester School of Art nest logo as the main focus on each booklet. I decided to use a line from the nest to line up with the file divider where the name of the course is. Keeping the colour scheme, the line leading off also matched the colour of the course.
The outside of the box file catalogue, I used brown sugar paper to print on which seemed to work very well. I wanted to make 2013 the highlight of the front cover. I used an under score under the year so it would line up with the velcro nest button.
Layout of the end of year show poster, invite and art auction poster all printed on brown/tan sugar paper. The overall colour schemed to work. The only problem was the cost of constructing the A5 box file, it would cost too much to make.
