Colchester School of Art - Graphics Auction

The auction was held at 15 Queen Street, So i decided to use the 15 as the main focus. Using the a gavel as the one seemed to work very well with the Baskerville 5. I then placed the number within a red circle which seemed to finish the overall look.
Keeping the colours to a minimal worked very well with the over powering white back ground. Bold black
Helvetica worked very well over the red and highlighting the subject of the poster. I tried work within a grid format, inspired by the Swiss layout. By keeping all the important information to a minimal worked very well.
For the auction I decided to make a bold Baskerville three. Three was to reprsent the the three years of my degree. I used the same process as before for the other letters and numbers that I have made over the years.
I have been trying different constructions within the letters and numbers to see how well other it holds. The small pieces of cardboard seem to work very well, however visually doesn't look very good. Next time all cardboard needs to be cut the same height and size.
The wall piece placed within my Shed, the red works very well with the pine wood. It seemed such a shame to be selling it as it looked very good in the Shed.
Overall the auction went very well. Loads of people turned up to the auction and got some great pieces of work. I am even surprised that the three sold, as numbers and letters are usually aimed at unique audiences.
