Every year, the Department Fashion Communication, National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi organises a showcase event to celebrate the graduating works of its students through an exhibition and an annual publication. As part of the graduating batch of the class of 2013, it was a great experience for me to have worked on the showcase, starting from the invites, to the space, to the showcase publication under the mentorship of Ms. Anupreet Dugal. This year's theme: UNLOCK.
" The overall aim of UNLOCK is to provide a crisp confrontation with the design trajectories angled by us. The concept hinges on the intent and effect of design in varied scenarios. Presenting the fourth edition of ‘Non Compos Mentis’, a compilation of excerpts from the graduating works of our students from the class of 2013.
Initially, the compilation posed a challenge. Fledgling speculations went off-the ground. Dealing with the symptoms of a mind block, we arrived at UNLOCK. Literally, the action itself is a frequent characteristic of unlocking the composite whole. Here, we use design for its manifestation.
This assemblage gives access to a rich dialogue with twenty-seven minds and unlocks new collaborative possibilities. We hope you enjoy our latest academic offering."
