REVIVAL DER SERIFEN
REDESIGN OF A FORGOTTEN SERIF TYPEFACE
«Orléans Serif» is a revival of a French typeface from the late 19th or the early 20th century. As a basis for the digitalization and modernization of a forgotten typeface, I used a book printed in Paris in 1909. Despite extensive research, the name or source of the original typeface could not be found.
Orléans is a classical antiqua. It is characterized by a relatively high contrast in the line width. The axes in round letter forms run vertically. A special feature is also the small barrel width.
