The inspiration of this set of illustrations came from the period when my friend and I were suffering from depression. I watched a short documentary film "Encounters at the End of the World" by Werner Herzog, 2007. It is about penguins suffering from depression walking to the iceberg alone, walking to their own destiny. I find the sympathy from the video. For me and my friends, the moon to us is like icy mountains to penguins. So during the time I study in UAL, I made this 1 minute 25 seconds animation, tells the story of a penguin transforms into a boy, walking to the moon, finally found that the moon has been in his own hands, all need to do is lower the head to have a look of himself.
