Danielle Hayek's profile

The Fourteen Clowns series

El Hayek’s work aims to bring human emotions to life through vivid yet abstract portraits. The artist is inspired by the psychological theories of Carl Jung, known as the father of analytical psychology, and specifically the recurrent phenomenon of the “collective unconscious”. The "Fourteen clowns" series comes in continuity with the "Archetypes of Jung series " showcasing the 12 famed archetypes of CG Jung .
El Hayek’s new body of  work focuses on the study of one specific archetype: The Jester, also known as the clown.  The fourteen different representations of this specific archetype aim to cover controversial and sometimes paradoxical interpretations of the “clown figure” in society. Distinct, vivid and unforgettable, the jester stands out as an immensely potent archetype of human emotion.
