FRANZ KAFKA

This print edition is the Finalist of Ukrainian Young Book Design Awards.

Publication of the memoirs of Franz Kafka (1910 – 1923). An attempt to illustrate emotions using the destruction of text blocks and present typed text as a full–fledged visual tool of the book.

"Ancient Greek and Baroque poetry, medieval manuscripts, avant–garde literature — even if limited only to the Western European examples, it is apparent that visual poetry is a recurring phenomenon. By synthesizing the verbal and the visual perceptions of the book, Franz Kafka's diary continues this tradition. In this case, it also makes sense to mention glitch art. Independent of the author's initial rendition, the text here deforms with seemingly random malfunctions and errors."

In cooperation with Galyna Shevchuk and Oleksandr Topolnytskyy (LNAA)
