Tophane is a very old neighborhood within the borders of Beyoğlu district which is located in the European side of Istanbul. The traces of different cultures from different historical periods are still visible and alive in Beyoğlu. For many centuries, it has been a very dense and crowded area due to its popularity for arts, cultural diversity and entertainment. In time, the density of the area has increased leaving no space for parks or squares. The Culture Cave arises from the ground to sustain and even enlarge the green space. The very organic style is meant to leave the stage to the old architectural styles in the area. The center aims to protect the culture and exhibit it to Istanbul’s numerous visitors.
