Erenköy neighborhood is located in the Asian Side of Istanbul. The formation of the previous train station goes back to the times where Erenköy was a popular coastal town with summer houses and recreational areas such as beaches. Due to urban extension and over population, Erenköy is now under the threat of disorganized urban regeneration and losing its valuable green areas which is a part of its identity. Unfortunately today, locals don’t have access to recreational areas as they had before. The purpose of this project is to recreate a public interaction space for locals including a park and a square; remove the border that divides the town into 2; and decrease the sound and visual pollution of the train for the locals by taking it underground.
