Vector Project
For this project I had to create a photo realistic wrist watch in Illustrator. It had to include moving mechanical parts and I had to use a real wrist photo for inspiration. I completed this project using gradients, blending, shapes and blur effects. I decided to create a vector design of the Michael Kors Pyper
Leather Strap Watch. Below is the original photo of the Michael Kors watch.
Sketching Process
Description:
The sketching process for this project was based on shapes, highlights and shadows. I draw small details and the big shapes of the wrist watch to have a basic idea of how it would look when I add the shapes to the software. This was a great opportunity for me to pay attention to the different shapes that this wrist watch is made of and analyze where the light is coming from to add the highlights and shadows. While sketching the project on Illustrator the sketches on paper where a great source of help for me to draw the shapes and appropriately position the highlights and shadows.

Feedback:
The way I incorporated the feedback was by adding shadows under the cylinder hours shapes. I also added shadows under the diamonds shape and the circle base shape I added more yellow color.

I consider my vector design reached the objectives of the project because it looks as similar as possible to the original photo. I used the techniques the instructions recommended such as : blending, blur and gradients. I made the shapes of this project as close as possible to the original photo which was used as inspiration for the final vector design.
