INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SIGN LANGUAGES

The International Day of Sign Languages

IF NOT KNOWING A LANGUAGE WILL STOP US FROM BEING TOGETHER,
LET’S LEARN IT TOGETHER.

Communication is a basic human right, so why is this not the case in deaf communities.

Deaf people are isolated from the ‘general’ population and are unable to communicate with the people around them. Humans are very visually driven, and having a visual aid can make learning easier, especially a new language. Visually show people how to sign a series of popular phrases in ARSL by creating a collectable series of various collateral, including posters, tshirts, social media content and video content. The collateral will serve a awareness purpose to support the education that will be done.

In an effort to close the gap between hearing and deaf people in the UAE Etisalat created a training program to teach store employees phrases in ASL.
Video showing the training program select Etisalat employees attended.
