Ordinary Day is a new holiday which takes place on the 23rd of May. It is a day which has been created in order for people to celebrate the ordinary. A day when appreciating your cutlery and admiring your cheesegrater is encouraged! Although this day has been created as a bit of fun, thee is a more serious underlying message. We do take for granted the things we use everyday. We rarely stop to imagine what life would be like without the simplest of things, like the blinds we close at night and the alarm clock that wakes us up every morning.
Through my 4th year major project I aim to encourage people to appreciate the simple things we take for granted. It encourages people to celebrate the ordinary in a fun, interesting and perhaps surprising way.
