THUNDER | Recycled Cardboard Chair

Awarded at Remake Festival Berlin 2013
The chair is 100% made out of recycled cardboard.

Once the final form, geometry and aesthetics of the chair were agreed upon based on ergonomic and design principles, the pieces were cut out and glued together using wood glue.

A total of around 80 identical pieces of cut out cardboard were used.

Why it's sustainable:
It gives new use to scrap materials.
It is free to make (except for the glue used) - the cardboard was given by stores (sofa bed boxes, bicycle boxes, etc.)

It is also comfortable and can stand large weights and forces.
