Carving and Lathe
RISD Sophomore Wood I Studio
This was a wooden circular disk made using the hand plane. I started off by making a cuboid form with flat sides, and started removing wood until it became a disk.
These two shapes were made using the lathe.
This piece was carved from pine. The prompt was to make two sculptural carved objects that interact with each other. I decided to make my second object light and see how it interacts with wood through thin fibers and textures of the wood.
