Persona is an exhibition that explores the roles women play in fiction, and how the tropes and stereotypes associated with them are informed by reality. The intent is to show that these roles women play can tell powerful stories—be they contemplative, inspirational, political, or more. Women can put on any act they want and tell countless stories with their performances. This show stemmed from my interest in storytelling.

The visual direction is inspired by the “self-portrait”—capturing a one’s identity in a single piece of art. I created three characters for the exhibition’s promotional material, and hinted their personalities through specific props, colors, and clothes. This idea of portraiture can be seen by how the photo treatment of the show’s images are forced in a portrait orientation, along with the typography being laid out in a vertical manner.
