Live brief given by creative agency, JDO to design the cover artwork for a new Basement Jaxx single as well as a new logo for the band.
I chose to use blood cells as the main focus for my cover, using the concept of how they work together to create a strong, flourishing unit. I felt that this could work well for the cover artwork for the single 'People of Planet Earth' to represent people working together to form a vibrant world. I also played on the saying that 'music is in the blood'.
The logo uses a typeface I created myself, taking inspiration from the DNA helix which forms the 'X', from which I was able to design the other letters.
I produced a 7 inch vinyl sleeve and a promotional poster for the single release.
My design was shortlisted to the top 5 out of the UK search for the JDOraw winner & was awarded runner-up.
