Monopoly - What a Touristic World 2013

SATIRE:
“When one artist, for comic effect or social commentary, closely imitates the style of another artist and in doing so creates a new artwork that makes ridiculous the style and expression of the original.
Merryman & Elsen 2002
This work is an ironical satire of mass tourism, meant to recreate the experience of being a mass tourism industry leader. You can play with the world, buy and sell beaches, install your hotels on the mount Everest, control tribes... You have to deal with unhappy customers, arrange bus tours, deal with natural disasters.
You can do everything as long as you have the money!

Everything is authentic but meant to be standardized.

The concept of the MONOPOLY - What a Touristic World© 2013 is the result of genuine artistic creation and imagination.

Presented in LASALLE College of the Arts, not distributed, not meant for sale, for consenting grown-up users only. Attention! Some rules of this game may shock the younger ones for their cruelty towards the poor.
Contains no nudity -even if the players may end up naked if they decide to sell their personal belongings in case of bankrupt.
Approved by the Censorship Board of Singapore.
