The GerillAR art project is redefining the concept of the poster by using augmented reality technology (AR). After you scan the posters, you will be able to discover the hidden, moving content of various designers around the city. This is how a virtual exhibition was created in Budapest at Design Week 2019.
After you scan the posters there will be a content that reflects, for example, the built or organic environment, history, or even site-specific characteristics of the site. We were launched a competition to create the moving contents for all designers who wanted to become part of a vibrant and innovative graphic “movement”. During the project, we considered it important to create a “parallel world”, a “living organism” that includes buildings, spaces and people living or visiting the city, creating a virtual, moving augmented exhibition that includes whole Budapest. The “roaming” of works of art brings people closer to the city and thus the city itself becomes part of the exhibition.
