Background
Felabration is essentially a week-long series of activities geared towards celebrating and further bolstering the legend that is Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
2019's theme was ‘From Lagos with Love’. 7Up, being the brand that celebrates uniqueness, creativity, and self-expression sought to make the 2019 edition unique.
The Thinking
Lagos is the city of showmanship. Fela himself in his time was a showman; asides from the fact that he was very fashionable in his dressing offstage, on stage, Fela was a showman on the stage.
For our execution, we sought to showcase Lagos - the city. Making 7up the hero and infusing the Felabration message into the mix.
The Idea
Eko for show
"Eko for show" is a phrase popularized by Lagosians in the city. It refers to the Lagos life - the fast-paced nature, flashy lifestyle and other lovable aspects of the city.
Our aim was to leverage this phrase to drive affiliation for the 7Up brand with the Felabration campaign.
