This project was an exploration of a telescoping mechanism. The piece celebrates the extendable legs and the process of changing the height; it tells it’s own story with a glass top, exposing holes in the legs and a neatly placed allen key in the frame. The user should understand and respect the process and take the time to change it’s mode. The styling is that of a “rat rod” feel, the contrast of crisp treated wood and sleek glass top with the battered metal legs is a welcome change to the contemporary style flooding the design world.
