'Science Fiction' envelopes a wide range of sub-genres and themes, attracting a unique audience. The British Library required promotional material for a science fiction exhibition entitled 'SciFi: Utopias, Aliens and Robots'. The challenge with this project was creating a visual style to promote the exhibition that appealed to the broad genre audience range. The aim of the design is to play with the theme of the future and our uncertainty of it. The poster is based upon the predictions that various novels and films have made about the year 2012. The graphical style was a result made organically by distorting the letterforms.
The catalogue's aim is to provide an accompaniment to the exhibition. It contains details and images of the different objects on display, as well as information about the exhibition itself.
