And the Pilgrims crossed the sea
Braving storms at God’s mercy
The Eden they would reach
Was a dream, different for each
Yet when appeared the island’s shore
All hungered for the land to explore
Delighted by such wonders
They thanked the Lord for hours
This Promised Land was indeed
Perfect to satisfy their greed
Start from scratches they could
Of society build their own mould
Fruit of their labour, tabula rasa,
The United States of America!
