The First Calendar
Do you know that?
In 1896, Joseon adopted the Gregorian calendar for the first time and created Korean first solar calendar.
And really coincidentally, the 1896 calendar is the same as the 2020 calendar!
Let me introduce you the calendar "Illpalguryuk(=1896 in Korean)" which was designed using these two facts.

그리고 정말 우연히도, 1896년의 달력은 2020년의 달력과 똑같답니다!
이 두 가지 사실을 활용하여 디자인한 달력 "일팔구륙"을 여러분께 소개해드릴께요.
Connecting 1896 and 2020
I use the facts that Joseon introduced the Gregorian calendar in 1896,
and that year's calendar was the same as the one in 2020.
Calligraphy brush (Digital)
Using this point, the calendar Ilpalguryuk (1896) is designed to can be used in 2020
as well as to recreate the 1896 calendar, which is the first year of the modern calendar in Korea.
The calendar Ilpalguryuk(1896) is a calendar that used an illustration drew people living in 1896,
Korean empire. In order to give a retro look, it was expressed in black-and-white asian brush and limited in color.
1896년과 2020년을 잇는-
1896년도에 조선이 그레고리력을 도입했고,
그 해의 달력이 2020년의 달력과 같다는 점을 활용하였습니다.
이 점을 이용하여 일팔구륙 달력은 대한민국 근대 달력의 원년이라고 할 수 있는
1896년의 달력을 재현하고, 동시에 2020년에도 사용될 수 있게끔 디자인 되었습니다.
디지털 붓펜
1896년 당시에 살아가던 사람들의 모습을 그린 일러스트를 활용한 일러스트 달력으로,
레트로한 느낌을 주기위해 일러스트는 흑백/붓펜으로 표현했고 색상을 제한시켰습니다.

And i introduced my work through a funding site called Tumblbug and succeeded in funding!

작년 초, 학교를 졸업하고 처음으로 진행해본 작업물입니다.
우연찮게 떠오른 아이디어로 작년 거의 1년 내내 작업을 했어요.
다 해놓고 보니 역량이 부족해서 좋은 아이디어를 효과적으로 잘 표현하지 못한 거 같아 조금 아쉽기도 하네요. ㅎㅎ
혼자 모든 작업 과정을 해내야해서 힘겨웠지만 그래도 여러모로 많이 배웠던 작업물이라 애정이 갑니다. 다음에도 좀 더 좋은 작업물로 찾아뵐께요!

This is my first work since I graduated from school early of last year.
I worked on this idea for almost a year last year.
I'm sorry that I couldn't express a good idea effectively because I wasn't good enough.
It was hard to do all the work by myself, but I learned a lot in many ways, so I love it. I'll come back with a better piece of work next time!
