Tome & Prince, South Africa and Dubai.

Tome & Prince is a chocolate manufacturer that collects cacao grains from Sao tome and Principe takes them to South Africa for processing and then to the Arab Emirates to be sold.

As we started speaking with William Trovoada, the company owner, it became evident that hand-picked cacao grains from the island of Sao Tome and Principe are very special and needed a luxurious packaging design.

PACKAGING

Origin is Luxury

We focused on the premium origin of the cacao grains to create the packaging design. The design features tropical palm leaves from the São Tome and Principe islands. Each leaf type and color are used to differentiate the percentages of cocoa in each chocolate bar.

We use other graphic assets like diamond shapes and UV spot and metallic printing techniques to emphasize the brand's exclusivity.

CHOCOLATE BAR

Simple yet stunning

Premium chocolate bars are thinner. We designed a chocolate bar with wider lines to allow for breaking without damaging the shape.

The design started from a diamond pattern. The two small diamonds on the top right and bottom left of the bar represent São Tome and Principe's islands. The reliefs simulate the mountains and geographic characteristics of the islands.

PROMOTIONS

A premium experience

To promote the company, we designed a small chocolate bar and packaging to distribute at hotel chains. This would give a taste of the chocolate to the target audience.

We also designed a small shopping bag to give with each purchase at local retailers, hotels included. This bag is designed with an even more premium brand aesthetic to create intrigue in people that see buyers walking with it.
