Hi there !
Ok... Let's start explaining. A while back i was into graphite and had some interesting concepts going on in my head.
I started portraying people i know in certain situations, places, poses etc. The most interesting part is the objects i left flat, untouched and they are this way for a purpose.
First drawing is of my old friend Alina. I had this nice photo of hers and i decided to leave hair and beret alone and only give them some line quality.  That's because i wanted to create kind of framing around her face to accent it more and make it in focus. The next thing is to create barrier between her face and city. The third thing i did to vary drawing is to treat face as much photorealistically as i can and vice versa blur background to make some texture contrast going on there.
P.S. She has this nice look turned away from you and it kinda symbolises people in busy town, rushing, glancing right or left waiting for cars to pass and go.
The second drawing is portrait of my brother. He works at IT company and therefore has a lot of work sitting next to computer programming and stuff. I left out corners of the room and doors blank. The corners are unrendered to make an illusion of an slightly open box and therefore turn room into container. The doors are drawn in line only to symbolise they are there for visual sake not for practical, you can't open these doors. As for his glance you have the viewpoint as you were communicating with with via skype and it's the only way. Yeah... i know it's spooky
The third drawing is based on a photo from my friends birthday. The leftover things are couple of ballons, cigarettes, bottle of water and can of soda. In this one i tried to make this linear kind fo rhytm skipping thing at a time to make composition more interesting. Again background is smoth and the friend itself has some texture.
And the last one is a drawing of my girlfriend. This one has some surrealistic qualities like a doubled up lamp in the left upper corner. You can also notice me in the background taking picture of her. It's playful picture she is hiding from me, a second ago she had her hands covering her face unwanting me to photograph her but in the end i manage to take the victorious shot.
Again thanks for your attention!
