UCLA NBA All-Stars Program Ad

On February 18, 2018, the NBA All-Star Game will be played in Los Angeles at the Staples Center. UCLA has the opportunity to feature a full-page ad in the event program. One All-Star selected to play, is alumnus Russell Westbrook, from the Oklahoma City Thunder. By featuring Russell as an Optimist, the ad raises positive awareness for UCLA among NBA fans and the L.A.Community. The connection is also made by this Los Angeles native who paid tribute to the city that raised him with his Why Not Foundation, demonstrating his UCLA’s roots in optimism, his can-do attitude upbringing and tenacity.
Ideas for the most part, are subjective. Some are good. Some are bad. Some resonate with clients. Some don’t. Some get revised. Some look very different once they go into production. Like all projects that have ever been undertaken, there will always be some ideas that will never make it past the drawing board. Below are some of the concepts that didn’t make it, but they can still inspire the imagination.
The “Why Not?” Foundation’s annual Bowl celebrates Russell’s Reading Room initiative, with three new reading rooms in Los Angeles, that continues to inspire children to read.
