The short story "The Comic-Mouse" by Gianni Rodari deals with a comic-mouse entering the real world. It meets up with mice made of flesh and blood, but unfortunately it is only capable of using strange sound-words that annoy everyone else. As the mice abandon the poor comic-creature, it meets a lonely comic-cat and they become friends.
