"When nature strikes your imagination, architecture can only submit."
The beauty of nature Dimmuborgir lava field is the main element, architecture only pays attention to this beauty. The concept of the project provides for the full inclusion of the new visitor center in the surrounding context. The building has only one facade, with panoramic windows overlooking stunning views. The remaining facades are hidden behind the landscape. The path from the new parking leads to the new building of the visitor center or to the terrace. At the entrance, the visitor enters the space of the corridor, the walls of which are used for the exhibition. Next, we find ourselves in a cafe overlooking the Dimmuborgir lava field. The main material is concrete. It goes well with the environment and does not contrast with it. The roof of the building is maintained and is part of the landscape.
