School Wayfinding System

This project was done as part of my master's degree at ESMAD because of my desiere to understand the relevance of pictographic language and wayfinding in public spaces. Augusto Gomes Secondary School is located in Matosinhos (Porto) and it was there that I studied as a child. After these years I decided that my master's thesis would be a contribution to this space that offered me so much.
The guidelines for development were neutrality and timelessness because I intended to design a wayfinding system that would not be outdated over time. For this reason I searched for a simple design that prioritized the functionality and dynamics of space without falling into overly stylistic features.

I think the graphic similarity is decisive in the identity of a space or brand, so I decided to transport the characteristics at the end of the drawing of the Replica typeface to the pictograms, reached greater consistency between these two elements of the wayfinding system.
