Self portrait - Project
For my drawing class we needed to draw a self portrait as a project. Actually, it didn't have to be your face but something that represents you, something with a meaning in your life.

Materials used in this project:

Rotring Isograph .20mm
Hot Press board
Ruler
Tracing paper
First, I did 20 thumbnails to explore my ideas visually.
After a consultation with my teacher, I chose to draw the ballet pointe shoes, because I wanted to be a ballerina when I was little, it was indeed my dearest dream. So I did an ink post card size image, identical to the final in every way except size.
After that, I did surfaces studies. I practiced the most difficult areas in the pointillism technique till I get the results that I wanted.
I used trancing paper to create some guidelines and then I passed that to the hot press board. I took me 3 days to finish my self portrait project, I just measured the board and started to work on it. Pointillism is not an easy technique and it was the first time I was using a Rotring Isograph, this technical pen is definitely the best but you need to be careful with it, it is very delicate.
My Final Piece
I feel so proud of my final piece, I worked so hard on it, and my technique have improve a lot since I started this program. This will definitely be in my portfolio.
Thanks you!
