The Book of Alter Ego - Portfolio Book

This one is assignment for Visual Communication Design V to make my own portfolio book in order to fulfill internship period preparation. I was starting with 3 ideas then finally chose this concept. What I want to show in this book are the storyline and minimal layout in the artwork page. The story itself inspired by my own life and represent by Romy Ryan's poetries and Enya's songs, they both come from Ireland. This book has about 140's pages contain 21 projects including branding, typography, advertisement, crafts, packaging, and photography. They were all my projects during my college, some are assignments and rests are inisiative projects.

Twice upon a time, in the galaxy far-far away, long deep inside other dimension unreachable by logic and science, which had certain connection to human’s world. There was living an unnamed ordinary guy with long neck in a suburb. Made a living through neighbor’s farm, slept under the shack, and went to the market as labor sometimes. He worked for a Sir, paid by wheat and water everyday. He loved his life in modesty. He didn’t have any acquaintance beside Sir. It wasn’t mean that he wasn’t sosialize with others, he was mute and deaf since the time he realized it.

In other part of the suburb, there was living a beautiful red-haired lady wore nice dress, ate bread and drank nilgiri tea. She lived in an affluent family, not too rich but far from poverty. Twice, she went to the farm to delivered message from Papa about business. Several times she was passing her eyes through a guy, who was calm and working alone in the farm. From afar, their eyes met, she felt something, the guy spoke through his eyes. Still from afar, the lady feel kind of breeze in her heart, running down from her eyes. They were both getting closer. Butterflies flapped wings around them.

They talked through heart and eyes. The butterflies also told everything the to long necked guy. They were in love, the unspoken love from pure-hearted guy to a city-lady. Whole galaxy was theirs, her beauty overwhelmed him. As he wrap his arms around her. Pressed her softness tight, great passion filled his inner being. He was captured in her embrace. Both eyes control their very soul. The touch of her lips, heaven. Forever frozen in time, all else fades into nothing. Literally nothing as time goes, he changed. Changed a lot like ink just polute his mind. She had thrown.

Void, empty, hollow inside. Her dreams had fled, and hopes had died. Existence had no reason, life's just passing with each season. News about his gentlehood, lost child from the Anonymous Kingdom, was taken back. He was a red robe descendant. Fine at the beginning, but not for the next day. He fall into marble halls, forget what butterflies said. Neck was getting longer, same things matter to the vanity.
