The Kingston Allstars are a modern super-group of legendary reggae artists including Sly Dunbar, Ansel Adams, Mikey 'Mao' Chung and others. Producer and longtime friend Moss 'Mossman' Raxlen came to me to design the branding for this project when it first started in 2017.
The font design is loosely based on Coptic knotwork of ancient Ethiopia, suggesting the deep and mystic cultural history that informs the Rastarian Diaspora. The colours are of course the traditional rastafarian red green gold, and the main logo incorporates the Jamaican flag for these ambassadors of Kingston reggae culture to the world.
