Adventure Travel 2017: Hiking in Greenland and Iceland
Highlights of a nine day hike along the Arctic Circle Trail in Greenland from Kangerlussuaq to Sisimuit. We were a group of 11 Australians and did the hike in July 2017.
Highlights of a four day hike along the Laugevegur Trail in Iceland from Landmannalaugar to Porsmork. We were a group of 9 Australians and did the hike in August 2017.
We visited Greenland in July 2017 starting in Kangerlussaq we took a tour to the Icecap then hiked the Arctic Circle Trail to Sisimiut a wonderful coastal town. From Sisimiut we took the Arctic Umiaq Line coastal ferry north along the west coast to Ilulissat in Disko bay another colourful coastal town. We took a tour to Eqip Sermia, the calving glacier which was spectacular. Then we flew out to continue our adventure in Iceland.
