I actually ended up making a postcard with each of my designs. My first one is the Color effects. This one is my favorite design. I used a radial gradient that was created using noise vs. solid color. then added effects using color and gradient overlays of the same, and a color overlay of dark purple. Then I duplicatd the photo layer, set it to saturation, and then added a large brush stroke in blue. I love that this image looks like tie-die, but you can still see the items underneath that speak to me as a designer.
This is my Hollywood effect postcard. I used the hide-all layer mask technique and a large spotted brush to bring the image back to the surface. For the background I made rectangles that complimented each other and then liquified them into a groovy little puddle. I also duplicated the background layer and set the opacity to 25 so that it would still be consistent through the image.
This is my light effects post card. I inverted my original photo, then used the same hide all mask effect and used a brush stroke. I then inserted a circle and subtracted the shape, inverted the color, lowered the opacity, and used the outer glow effect, then did the same thing with an additional circle over a duplicated layer of the original image with a hide all mask and clean brush stroke to see it in the center.
This is my designers choice image. I used brightening filters on the image itself, added a dark stroke around the image. then I created a purple/pink gradient for the background to compliment the fabric that I used as a backdrop in the image. I lowered the opacity of the gradient layer, and duplicated the image, flipped it, and enlarged it underneath the gradient layer. I then used the shape tool to add some stars and moons to the background, and made them glow with outer and inner glow and embossing them.
