BORDER | BKKTP•2019

Poster designed for Bangkok Through Poster 2019

People flow will be always seen as a problem if we continue to think about the BORDER as the limit, as the start of the private, as the start of difference.
This is the basement of racism, of the hate to the different and fear of the unknown.
It can be different if we start to think about BORDERS as an edge where different things interact. Then the people flow can bee seen as an opportunity to change
by interaction of peoples, countries, cultures.

The concept for the posters starts with the definition of borders by Stephen Jay Gould where the border is an edge where different group interacts. The poster represents metaphorically the interaction of people and cultures on an abstract-unreal map. It is visually divided into six boxes. But every side interacts with each other with a dynamic visual play of types, surfaces positive and negative space. At the end of the last box, there are data from the website "Flow monitoring Europe" of people flow to Europe and Italy of 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2016. Including dead.
