XXII SIU 2019
The 22nd National Conference of the Italian Society of Urban Planners deals with the issues of Urban Planning in front of the UN Agenda 2030. 3x3x3 (+3) is the organizational formula of the event: 9 occasions of discussions between plenary, frame
and workshop. The 3 and 9 were the references to build a grid of 9 modules repeated 3 times in a longitudinal direction and define the concept of the logo. The first 3x3 box is dedicated to the brand, while the second two support the layout of the logo text. Red is the dominant color of the project, which for years has identified the image of the SIU conferences, this time of a tending to orange tone, the same one used by Paul Klee in the painting Fast Getroffen.
A reinterpretation of “Despina”, composition of the peruvian arch. Karina Puente, passionate about the forms of the city, who gave a personal image to the Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. The stylized illustration depicts the minarets of Byzantine architecture (typical of the territories hosting the conference) from which flexible arms branch out
towards the sky.
