Developed as a project in the use of Photoshop filters for my Vector and Raster Graphics class, my assignment was to learn to use alpha channels and blending modes to create a layered desktop wallpaper of my own choosing. Given that I am very inclined to the nostalgic sounds and aesthetic of modern electronic music, best known perhaps in the style of the contemporary electronic duo Daft Punk, that is whom I chose as the subject of my poster.

The depth and malleability of blend modes in Photoshop allowed me to experiment with blending images together very seamlessly to create an exotic colourscape by superimposing several layers of gradients, pure colour, and stamped-together images of lightning and the subjects themselves. The feel of this piece is intended to evoke a sensation of "moving forwards while looking backwards", which I intended to reflect the nature of remix culture as represented in the accessibility of using modern technology to create this kind of image.
