Southern Grampians Victoria

This photo was taken at Lake Bellfield, five kilometres from Halls Gap, with Lake Bellfield behind me and the Southern Grampians in front of me. The Grampians National Park is an area of 167,219 hectares, commonly known as “The Grampians” and is 260 kilometres west of Melbourne, Australia. This image is the southern end of the Grampians. The Grampians itself are a series of five spectacular sandstone ridges running north to south (not shown in this image) with steep and craggy slopes on the eastern side and gentler slopes to the west. They are the result of earth movements lifting and tilting the hard sandstones to create an impressive landscape of peaks and valleys. There are lookouts with stunning panoramic views as well as a number of impressive waterfalls.  https://yolanda-caporn.pixels.com/featured/southern-grampians-victoria-yolanda-caporn.html
