Repurposing is defined as the act of converting for use in another format or product. As with any project that involves repurposing, it is a main objective to bring a new life to the object while still appreciated the past life the object once had. When acquiring the piano hammers of an upright player piano, this piece came to life as an entry way table. By using glass bottom trays and a glass surface that hovers over the action of the hammers, the hand crafted mechanics are still able to be seen while allowing for functioning surfaces.
