Dots and Lines || Scooter, 2017
Kickscooter, is a design with the intention of adding a linear and minimal electric personel transportation vehicle purified from amorphous surfaces. While keeping the form language as simple as possible, I also aimed to present its interaction with daily electronic devices, physically and digitally. The magnetic charging input and interchangeable battery are on the board part highlighting the electronics. The electric motor and brakes are located on the rear wheels. The cylindric form used for the brakes are in accordance with the design language while allowing for sensitive control. Also it locks the folded product in place with magnetics.
The user interface brings a new understanding. It has been designed with using nothing but the handlebar, without the need for a screen, located inside a structure in line with the form thanks to the programmed LED lights. A turning frame allows control, inspired by smartwatches. In novice mode the scooter can reach 15km/h and in sport mode it can reach 17km/h. The scooter which allows for 2,5 hours of use is not a burden when the battery is depleted thanks to the light design. Also, users can easily fold it and carry it if they wish or ride without battery.
Users can easily connect their scooter with their phones via Bluetooth. This connection helps to the people use maps, while driving. With LED interface, users could follow the GPS while their phones in their pockets. Also with this connection, its possible the use scooter’s front camera as an action camera.
Dots and Lines is a conceptual branding that I create for my personal projects. It is include different products that unrelated each other but created in same design language. I will share soon more projects from this collection that some of them awarded. Also I could add new concepts in future. You can follow my works for more!
