The tale of our robot's inception began rather rapidly! Once upon a time, while browsing through English-speaking YouTube trends, we stumbled upon a channel called "Lucas the Spider". It's an exceptionally endearing project featuring a tiny spider as the protagonist, who's on a quest to find friends!
The idea of creating our own unique character sprang to life. We commenced by sketching initial designs, which admittedly, looked quite dismal. :D
Next, we began scouring the internet for references to get a sense of direction. Primarily, we focused on various toys, and that's when Cozmo, a charming robot, caught our attention and sparked inspiration! Here you can see some of the sketches we developed!
After the complete assembly of the 3D model, we moved on to examine and test the functioning of the mechanisms. We wanted to ensure that all physical components could correctly interact and operate. Then came the moment for texturing.

And then, animation was next on the list!
Animation involves countless details that require meticulous attention. The robot's mechanics were designed in a way to simplify animation while simultaneously rendering greater realism to the robot.
The subsequent step was the compositing of the character into the real world, followed by sound design, color grading, adding special video effects, and more! Currently, we are in the process of formulating a coherent narrative arc for the character to establish its distinct personality and intriguing storyline. The robot's mechanisms are designed in a way that it isn't perfect and all-capable, rather, it is a robot ready to learn and evolve.
