Design Narrative: 

This is a type specimen book for Adrian Frutiger’s typeface, Versailles. The visual style for the book is Indian Deconstructivism because the topic of the book is based on the cataclysmic events that occurred in India; Operation Blue Star, Indira Gandhi’s Assassination, & Bhopal Gas Tragedy. These tragic events happened in the year 1984, the same year Adrian Frutiger designed the typeface, Versailles. The typeface, Versailles, has an elegant and clean look, which contrasts the disastrous events in India in 1984. Therefore, the book is filled with complex geometric layouts with bold design elements. Overall, this book is meant to provide a unique and new approach to documenting and displaying Adrian Frutiger’s typeface, Versailles.
