The Exquisite City: Melbourne
Motion Graphics Project (DDD30022) from Swinburne University
This project was assigned as part of Swinburne University's Motion Graphics Project (DDD30022) unit, with the idea of creating an "exquisite corpse" video. Once a group was chosen, every member had to create a final refined frame, which their video would end on. The next person in the order of the video would then work from this frame to transition into their own video.
The focus of the video was to create an abstract representation of the city of Melbourne, pulling from the various aspects that define Melbourne, such as personal experiences, architecture, events, popular culture, et cetera. I focused on the chaotic, yet ordered, nature of the inner city, with obvious patterns and deviations from the patterns occurring on a daily basis.
The final video will be projected onto a dome at the Swinburne Graduate Exhibition (GradX) 26th-28th of November, and to enhance the experience, I've used some techniques such as fish eye effects, shadows and depth of field.
