Winding Road Distilling Co is a family-run distillery set in the lush hills of the Byron Bay hinterland. Premium small batch spirits are produced which capture the natural beauty and abundance of the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. Winding Road takes a slow and patient approach to their craft, resulting in spirits that display a unique range of complex layers and flavours. 

The folks from Winding Road approached Wiltshire Creative looking for logo design, identity and packaging. Winding Road expected the highest quality branding to be in keeping with the uncompromising quality of their product. The identity and packaging system we created for them features bold, colourful, and minimal typography with a hint of nostalgia. 

A big part of the brief was to encapsulate the beautiful part of the world that is the Northern Rivers region. The colour palette was chosen to reference natural tones found in the surrounding area, the rolling hills, the spectacular ocean views, beaches and the sugar cane fields from where they source their raw ingredients.

The "batch labels" were created to reflect the individual nature of each of Winding Road's products. Sections on these labels allow for handwritten numbers that express the traditional, handcrafted processes, combined with contemporary elements to reflect the high quality of their products.
