Televisioni by Bailey Nelson

Bailey Nelson are known for their high quality, hand crafted glasses. As part of a new product strategy, they identified a growing number of their customers looking for fashion frames. An emerging European eyewear trend in 2019 was oversized, exaggerated shapes. This presented an opportunity to design a range of distinctive fashion frames and build on the success of their acetate material construction; experimenting with new manufacturing techniques and exploring heavier, thicker acetate designs.

Introducing Televisioni. Inspired by product design of the 1950's where bevelled and contoured details were prevalent in everything from cars to TV sets. The name is a direct reference to the household products that made this style so ubiquitous. The Televisioni frames catch the light and creates shadows; pushing the acetate construction further than before. The result is experimental style with no compromise on wearability.

To launch the range we created a campaign style inspired by the same era; one of gaudy living rooms, TV dinners and the brightly saturated images that came from the studios of the small screen. Block colours, bold styling and statuesque talent were the ingredients in the portraiture, while crushed velvet and soft furnishings inspired the still life imagery.

Instagram Face Filter

By using the latest face filter software; Spark AR, we collaborated with UsTwo, Sydney to create a virtual try-on that allowed Instagram and Facebook users to take the Televisioni range for a spin on the small screen. With subtle nods to a bygone era of brightly lit sound stages, the virtual try-on fuses fashion and innovation, and is designed to make the customer feel like a star; putting them in the campaign.

Pairing experimental style with experimental technology, the filter effect is available on the Bailey Nelson Instagram and mobile landing page for customers to try on a pair of sunglasses from the Televisioni range.
